VAT Registration

Businesses must register for VAT if the taxable supplies exceed a mandatory threshold of AED 375,000. Further, business should register voluntarily, if their imports are less than mandatory registration threshold but exceed voluntary registration threshold of AED 187,500. As per the present business volumes happening in UAE even a small grocery shop needs to take VAT registration because the threshold limit for not taking registration is fixed at a very meagre figure of less than AED 1100 per day and almost all the shops in UAE will have more sales than this.
